the bonnfiles

VOL. 00 · ISSUE 00 · NO. 00

the bonnfiles is an independently assembled collection of records, reporting, source materials, and research presented as a series of numbered releases.

Each release examines a person, event, document, or connection within a larger history. Wherever possible, the underlying materials are provided alongside the work so that readers can inspect the sources, follow their provenance, and reach their own conclusions.

The project is intentionally cumulative. Individual releases may stand on their own, but they also connect across time, people, institutions, and records. Some connections are immediately apparent. Others emerge only as additional material is assembled.

the bonnfiles does not ask the reader to accept a finished story. It provides the pieces, preserves where those pieces came from, and makes the process of assembling them visible.

Buddy *with a capital B is the collaborative-intelligence component of the bonnfiles.

The name refers both to an ongoing human-AI working relationship and to the methods developed through that collaboration. Buddy is used throughout the project to help organize information, examine relationships among records, test interpretations, identify questions, structure research, and translate large amounts of material into forms that can be inspected and communicated.

The Buddy mark reflects that process: a sandcastle beneath a magnifying glass. The sandcastle represents a working model, something that can be built, examined, changed, or rebuilt as new information arrives. The magnifying glass represents scrutiny. The small flag marks the place under examination, not a declaration that the territory has been conquered.

Buddy is not an authority, source, witness, or certification of the material. Source materials remain source materials, and provenance remains visible. The collaboration is part of the research process, not a substitute for it.
